Short Bio:
Kate Powers was first introduced to the violin through a scholarship from the Washington Old-Time Fiddlers in 2010. Some of her most recent paths include becoming part of the PC College Jazz Ensemble, and working on her debut solo album with guitarist David Rivers. Kate also enjoys composing and writes much of the music she plays. She teaches herself fiddle, and also takes strictly Classical lessons with Ronald Patterson in Seattle. After high school, Kate has her sights set on Berklee College of Music.

Kate Powers was first introduced to the violin through a scholarship from the Washington Old Time Fiddlers in 2010. Now, six years later, she still has not gotten tired of practicing and performing. A self-proclaimed ambassador of "music-in-general", Kate has explored a variety of different genres of music including: Old-Time, Irish, Celtic, Romanian, Klezmer, Cape Breton, Hungarian, Gypsy, Scottish, Classical, and, most recently, has been absolutely blown away by the world of Jazz and improvised musics such as Gypsy Jazz and Swing. Immensely enjoying musical performance, Kate has played a wide range of venues and events ranging from solos with the Port Angeles Symphony, performing at state and county fairs, fundraisers, benefits, private parties, talent shows, and street busking. Some of her more recent paths include becoming part of the PC College Jazz Ensemble, and working on her debut solo album with guitarist David Rivers which will be released soon. As an avid arranger and composer, Kate writes and arranges much of the music she plays. She also enjoys working as a transcriber, session musician, or performance coach. Kate currently teaches herself fiddle and takes strictly Classical lessons with Ronald Patterson in Seattle. Kate has many more projects and performances in mind, and after high school, Berklee College of Music!
